The Brisbane Mining Club will be holding its next event at the Brisbane Tattersall’s Club on Thursday 11th April 2019. Registration will commence at 12.00pm with networking drinks available in the Members Bar from 12.00pm – 12.30pm. A two course lunch will be served in the Grand Ballroom from 12.30pm – 2.00pm. The dress code for this lunch will be business attire, with gentlemen required to wear a jacket and tie.

Patrick Walta is a qualified metallurgist, mineral economist and board executive with experience across both technical and commercial roles within the mining and water treatment industries. Graduating from Melbourne University with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Science, Patrick has gone on to complete postgraduate studies including an MBA, Masters of Science (Mineral Economics) and a Diploma of Project Management. In addition, Patrick is a graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course. In 2015 Patrick was awarded Young Achiever of the Year at the Australian Mining Prospect Awards and in 2018 he has also been nominated for the Mining News Emerging Leader of the Year Award.
In 2017 Patrick founded New Century Resources and became Managing Director following the successful negotiation and acquisition of the Century Zinc Mine in QLD. His role is focused on leading the Company in all facets of the restarting of operations, again establishing Century as a significant zinc producer while also facilitating the ‘economic rehabilitation’ of the mine site. Patrick also has a broad level of resource industry experience through Rio Tinto, Clean TeQ, Citic Pacific Mining, Cradle Resources, Carbine Resources and Primary Gold.
