AEGC 2021 Conference Announcement
Due to the ongoing challenges faced with COVID-19 and outbreaks nation-wide, the Organising Committee have made the decision to move AEGC 2021 to a fully virtual event and postpone the in-person Conference until 2023, in line with the next AEGC rotation.
Whilst holding a hybrid Conference was originally preferred, the ongoing escalation of the current situation and the health and safety of all stakeholders means we no longer feel that this is a viable option.
We have a fantastic technical program featuring incredible speakers and workshop presenters. To acknowledge all the work that has already been put into the program, the Organising Committee have decided to host a fully virtual Conference to provide presenters the opportunity to share their work with the community.
The 2023 Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, in person, and the new dates will be formally announced once finalised.
If you are a delegate, presenter or sponsor, please be aware that we have emailed you on the next steps. If you have not received this email yet, please contact the Conference Managers directly.
About the conference:
The Austalasian Exploration Geoscience Conference (AEGC 2021) will be held on 15-20 September 2021.
The AEGC has quickly established itself as the foremost petroleum, mineral and water resource industry conference in the region, incorporating the ASEG-PESA International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition, and jointly hosted by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG), and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA).
Under the conference theme of Geoscience for a Sustainable World, the AEGC will attract a large number of international and national delegates and organisations from across the spectrum of Australasian geosciences representing industry, government and academia. We expect to be able to include dedicated streams for Australian basins, resourcing a sustainable energy challenge, data, innovation and technology, high-quality resources for future generations, and developing the future workforce.
